We also simulate a landslide-generated tsunami in Tafjord using the nonlinear shallow-water equations within the ExaHyPE 2 framework. This test case represents an idealised model of a rapid mass movement into a fjord and the resulting long-wave motion. At \( t=0 \) the water depth \( h \) is set equal to the sampled displacement and the bed elevation \( z \) is given by the digital elevation model, yielding a data-driven initial condition that captures the complex geometry of the fjord and the imposed wave or slide footprint. All other flow variables are initially zero. At the open boundaries the solution is simply copied from inside to outside, corresponding to non-reflective boundary conditions that allow waves to leave the computational domain with minimal spurious reflection.
